Terms of service
Last updated 2 October 2026
These terms govern your use of TradeReady's website, web app and WhatsApp channel (together, the “service”), provided by TradeReady Ltd. (“TradeReady”, “we”). By using the service you agree to them. If you use it on behalf of a company, you agree on that company's behalf and confirm you have authority to do so. Where your partner organisation has a separate written agreement with us, that agreement governs its use of the service, and these terms govern yours.
1. Access and accounts
Access is provided through partner organisations such as chambers of commerce, trade associations and export-promotion bodies. Your partner organisation decides who receives an account and may end your access. You must be at least 18, give accurate information, keep your sign-in credentials secure, and tell us promptly about any unauthorised use of your account. You are responsible for activity under your account.
2. Guidance, not professional advice
TradeReady is a decision-support tool. Its answers, including classifications, rules-of-origin assessments, tariff information, market research, buyer leads and procedural guidance, are produced with the help of AI and curated reference data. They can be incomplete, out of date or wrong. They are not legal, customs, tax or trade-compliance advice and are not a binding ruling from any authority. Check anything important with the relevant authority or a qualified professional before you rely on it. You remain responsible for your export decisions, declarations and compliance.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the service for anything unlawful, including evading sanctions, export controls or customs duties;
- upload content you have no right to share, or that is malicious, infringing or unlawful;
- try to access other users' or organisations' data, or test, probe or bypass our security;
- overload, disrupt, scrape or reverse-engineer the service, or access it by automated means except through interfaces we provide;
- resell or provide the service to third parties without our written permission; or
- send spam or unsolicited messages through the WhatsApp channel.
We may suspend or end access that breaches these terms or puts the service or other users at risk.
4. Your content
You keep ownership of the content you submit, such as your questions, company information and documents. You give us a licence to host, process and transmit it as needed to provide and secure the service, and to produce aggregate, de-identified insight as described in our privacy policy. You confirm you have the rights needed to share it with us.
5. Our service
We own the service, including its software, design, curated reference data and the TradeReady name and marks. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use it for your own business purposes while you have access. Reference material from public sources (such as published tariff schedules and rules of origin) remains subject to its original terms.
6. WhatsApp
If you connect WhatsApp, your use of WhatsApp is also governed by WhatsApp's own terms. Standard messaging and data charges from your mobile operator may apply. You can stop notices at any time by replying STOP, or disconnect WhatsApp in the app's settings.
7. Third-party services
The service relies on third-party providers and may link to third-party websites, such as authorities, specialists or potential buyers. We are not responsible for third-party content, services or the conduct of contacts you reach through the service.
8. Availability and changes
We work to keep the service available and accurate, but provide it “as is” and “as available”, without guarantees of uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may change, add or remove features. If a change materially reduces what your partner organisation has agreed to with us, its agreement governs.
9. Liability
To the extent the law allows, TradeReady is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of profit, revenue, goods, shipments or business opportunity, including losses arising from reliance on the service's guidance. Our total liability to you for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim and USD 100. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for fraud.
10. Ending your use
You can stop using the service at any time and ask us to close your account. Your access also ends if your partner organisation ends it or its arrangement with us ends. Sections 2, 4, 5 and 9 survive the end of your access. We handle your data after closure as described in our privacy policy.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will post the new version here and update the date above, and tell you in the app or by email about significant changes. Continuing to use the service after a change takes effect means you accept it.
12. General
If any part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest still applies. Failing to enforce a term is not a waiver. You may not transfer your rights under these terms without our consent. These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya, and the courts of Kenya have jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory consumer protections where you live.
